What makes up the cost of vessel hire
An hourly rate helps compare options, but planning requires a calculation for the whole order. Check the tariff period, minimum time and additional costs.

Compare rates for the same period
Prices in listings may relate to different dates and conditions. Choose the required season and read the period description beside the rate. A tariff without a stated season cannot automatically be treated as the price for any date.
If there is no confirmed price for the chosen period, request a calculation. This is more accurate than carrying over a rate from a neighbouring month or comparing a standard trip with a special holiday offer.
Allow for the minimum booking time
The hourly price and minimum hire duration work together. If you are planning a short trip, check whether the chosen vessel allows such a booking and what time will be included in the calculation.
Also clarify how extensions and late guest arrivals are calculated. Do not assume that boarding, disembarkation or transfer to another pier is included in the same way for every option.
Separate hire from additional services
Catering, decoration, a photographer, videographer, guide, music and a host can be discussed separately. Selecting a service in an enquiry communicates a wish but does not by itself confirm the provider or price.
Ask for a list of what is already included in the agreed vessel cost and what is added to the order. For each service, it is useful to record the scope, working time, materials and conditions for changing the order separately.
Ask for a clear final calculation
A useful calculation links the vessel, date, time, duration, guest numbers and chosen services. It should make clear which conditions the amount relates to and which items still need clarification.
Before confirming the order, agree payment arrangements, possible surcharges and rescheduling or cancellation conditions. On the local site, an enquiry currently saves your wishes; it does not mean that payment has been made or a booking confirmed.
