How to use water level information

Readings are in centimetres as published by the hydrometeorological service. The page does not state the reference datum; confirm each gauge’s reference system before comparing different gauges.

To pass under bridges, the captain considers the boat’s height, clearance margin and current restrictions. In shallow water, depth and draught matter. Water level alone is not enough to decide whether to sail.

Readings over 3 hours old need to be checked again. Readings older than 24 hours are hidden. These limits are our service rules, not the authority’s observation schedule.
